A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM
Linda A. Fisher Executive Director
Union County Guardianship Services is honoured to have been selected as the beneficiary of the Silver Scene Players’ production of “Two by Two”. We feel this title is especially appropriate in light of our work. As “guardians of last resort”, we come alongside adults who are unable to manage their own affairs, and who have no one to protect their best interests. We currently care for 16 clients with a variety of disabilities or mental health issues that prevent them from functioning independently. We also provide training and support to the family members and friends who serve as guardians of more than 130 other adults in Union County. We are supported by a broad coalition of community agencies, including United Way, Memorial Hospital, the Mental Health & Recovery Board, Union County Foundation, the Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Union County Commissioners. Funds raised by the Silver Scene Players will help us expand our staffing to meet the needs of additional vulnerable adults in our community. We anticipate adding a staff guardian, as well as recruiting volunteers to handle some of our more routine cases. If you would like to know more about our work, please check our website: www.ucvgp.org, “like” us on Facebook, or call 937-645-3041. Come see us in the lobby during intermission and enjoy a cookie. And remember—“the world goes on by twos”. Could you be “one” of a “twosome” we need?
