We proudly announce that our spring production of “Once Upon A Mattress” raised $5,355.26 for The Dolly Parton Imagination Library and the Youth Education, Arts and Recreation Grant, both programs managed by The United Way of Union County. We presented the check Sunday, April 22 to The United Way of Union County at The Ville Grille during our cast party.

This production has generated our largest donation to date. We are honored to share that we have gifted more than $20,000 to various non-profits during the past five years, a testament to our mission: Bringing the joy of theatre to the community in order to ‘give back’ by supporting local non-profit organizations.

We are grateful for those who came out and supported the show, and for the more than 65 people who donated their time and gifts to the production, including actors, stage crew, musicians and numerous other volunteers.

From past productions we raised $650 for Northwestern Ohio Christian Youth Camp; $2,151.44 for Bridges Community Action Partnership; $1,160.14 for Wings Enrichment Center; $800.00 for Lifeline Christian Missions; $1,700.00 for New Path Pregnancy Resource Center; $1,400.00 for Youth Missions; $1,231.35 for the Marysville Food Pantry; $1,116.00 for The Union County Humane Society; $1,392.00 for The Hope Center of Marysville; and $2,100.00 for The Combined Food Pantries of Union County.

We are currently planning for our fall production, “Dancing in Riddles,” written by local playwright Amanda Rockhold, which will stage October 26-28, 2018 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium. Auditions will be held on July 26 and 30. For more information, go to our Auditions Page. You can also call the SSP box office line at 937-553-3SSP (377) or email auditions@silversceneplayers.com.

Proceeds from the fall production will benefit Neighbor to Neighbor, a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization. Members join for a small monthly fee and are matched with volunteers to help with household tasks and transportation. The Neighbor to Neighbor non-profit grew out of The United Way of Union County’s Annual Community Care Day. For more information about Neighbor to Neighbor visit www.ucn2n.org.
